Step-By-Step
Removing Course Site Content

(Text version)

1. Normally, instructors and TAs can remove individual content items by going to the control panel, clicking on the content area, locating the item and clicking on the "Remove" button to the right of the item.

2. It is possible to delete large sections of your course site in one action using the "Recycle Course" function. This is a handy tool for preparing a course site that has been used in the past. To use the "Recycle Course" function:

  • Log into the Blackboard course site as usual.
  • Go to Control Panel / Recycle Course. This displays the Recycle Course form.
  • Under section #1, there is a list of all of the content area buttons on your course site. You can remove all of the content behind any of the buttons by placing a checkmark in the box to the left of the button name.
  • Under section #2, there is a list of other areas on the course site that may contain content added by either the instructor or students. You can remove all of the content contained in any of these areas by placing a checkmark in the box to the left of the area name.
  • Under section #3, Type in the word Remove. It must be typed exactly.
  • Click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. A receipt will be displayed telling you the areas that have been recycled (removed).
