Welcome to Tufts Friends of Israel!

Our Goals:

Friends of Israel believes in the right of the State of Israel to exist as a soverign, secure, and free state equal among all other states.

As a student organization we aim to:

  • Educate the Tufts community about Israeli culture, society, and politics. Promote a strong relationship and serve as a conduit between Tufts students and the State of Israel. Ensure a politically pluralistic environment in our support for Israel. Serve as a resource for Israeli students on the Tufts campus. Serve as a resource for all types of Zionist education. Educate the Tufts community to promote the acceptance of the State of Israel and to combat anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism, and other forms of intimidation.
  • Embrace other organizations on our campus in order to create a constructive and harmonious environment and encourage a peaceful future for all peoples of the Middle East.

The Organization

Friends of Israel is committed to educating members of the Tufts community about Israel. Members of FOI work hard to cross ethnic and political lines in order to promote a better understanding of Israeli culture. Education acts as a catalyst for peace; FOI was founded with the hope that its members could play some role in the crucial task of building a brighter future for the world.Although Friends of Israel is a political organization due to the nature of the relevant issues, the organization does not have official positions on most of the specific issues related to the conflict in the Middle East. FOI's existance is based on the belief that The State of Israel has the right to exist. Members hope for an end to all violence, and look forward to a future of peace.
