Ian Kershaw

    Ian Kershaw is a Senior at Tufts majoring in Economics with a minor in Entrepreneurial Leadership. Ian joined the Tufts Financial Group's executive board the beginning of his freshman year as the VP of Communications, followed in his sophomore year with concurrent posts as the Treasurer of the Group and the Chief Compliance Officer of the Alpha Fund. After spending his entire junior year abroad at Oxford University taking intensive courses in economics, finance, and banking - as well as rowing and playing rugby for his college - Ian returned to TFG his senior year, once again taking up concurrent positions as Executive Vice President of the Group and Senior Analyst of the Alpha Fund. Ian will become President of TFG in the spring of 2009 when Maria departs the Hill to study abroad. For fun outside of TFG, Ian reads - anything and everything - cooks, travels, plays rugby, sings for a Tufts choir, and competes in triathlons. He is also a big fan of family, scenic drives, and golf.

Chris Cerrone

    Chris Cerrone, born and raised in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, is currently a junior pursuing a degree in Economics. Chris joined the Tufts Financial Group in his freshman year as the Lead Analyst for the regional and major airlines industry group. He has since served as the Vice President of Portfolio Strategy and the Senior Analyst prior to taking his current role as Portfolio Manager. Chris has worked as a junior analyst for Boston-based Century Capital Management in their Public Securities Group since the summer following his freshman year. Chris recently returned from a semester abroad in Florence, Italy where he studied Italian language and art history. Outside of finance, Chris enjoys skiing, traveling and is an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan.

Fax Herbert

    Fax serves as the Portfolio Advisor for TFG's Alpha Fund. Previously the acting Portfolio Manager, this now is his third year holding a research position within the Fund. Born in New York City, Fax relocated to Sherborn, MA at age 10 and attended Dover-Sherborn High School. At Tufts, he is currently a senior majoring in Economics, and has held a varitey of financial internships during his time at college. Over the past two years, he has worked in the equity research department at America's Growth Capital, served as an assistant to the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at SoftBank Capital, and spent a summer on the quantitative research team at MFS Investment Management. He unwinds by flyfishing, skiing, and reading.

Alex Chace

    Alex Chace is a native of Providence, Rhode Island and current junior at Tufts. He is currently pursuing majors in Quantitative Economics and Cognitive Sciences. Alex joined the Financial Group late in his freshman year as an analyst and took on the role of Vice President of Information Technology the following year. He is now responsible for the maintenance of the Group's web site. In addition to these responsibilities Alex contributes to the Tufts Financial Review, a bi-weekly financial news section which appears in the Tufts Daily. Over the past summer Alex interned as a quantitative researcher for Pyramis, a subsidiary of Fidelity.

Chris Giliberti

    Chris is a junior majoring in philosophy and minoring in Cognitive and Brain Sciences. This past summer, Chris both interned at UPenn's School of Medicine and completed, for the management consulting firm Booz & Co, a study that predicts the market penetration of hybrid vehicles. You can check out his findings in an article he wrote for the magazine Strategy+Business, and also somewhere on the Booz & Co. website. In addition to serving as VP of Journalism for TFG, Chris is the editor-in-chief of the undergraduate IR journal Hemispheres, and a business associate at the graduate IR journal The Fletcher Forum. If you have any questions about business journalism, I'm your man. In his spare time, Chris enjoys sailing, managing his portfolio, and occasionally walking to Tasty Gourmet for cupcakes and other delicious baked goods.

Dave Mergens

    Dave is currently the Portfolio Strategist for TFG, as well as the lead analyst for the Industrials and Transport Sector. This is his second year with TFG. He was born on July 24, 1988 and grew up in the small town of Milton, Vermont. Now he is a junior at Tufts, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Economics. He spent the past summer working for Millipore Corporation in Billerica, MA. After graduating Dave wants to work as an aerospace engineer or aerospace/industrials analyst, as well as move somewhere warm. His passions are basketball, music, and stock charts.

Erich Grant

    Erich Grant is a Junior majoring in Economics and Mandarin Chinese. He joined the Tufts Financial Group during his freshmen year as analyst and became the Lead Analyst for the Energy Sector during his sophomore year. During the second semester of the sophomore year, Erich served as the Vice President of Journalism and was the editor of the Tufts Financial Review. During the summer of 2008, he interned at Forex Capital Markets, working on a Foreign Exchange Sales Desk. After the fall 2008 semester abraod in Shanghai, he returned to the financial group as the Vice President of Alumni Relations. Erich's interests include politics, reading, sports and music.

Pat Schaufelberger

    Pat Schaufelberger is a current senior pursuing a double major in Quantitative Economics and International Relations. He joined TFG as an analyst and became a member of the executive board during his sophomore year. Prior to his current role as Executive Vice President, Pat served as Vice President of Journalism founding the Tufts Financial Review, a bi-weekly insert in the Tufts Daily, which covers news related to the financial world. The publication process involved managing a team consisting of 20 student-writers, editors, and layout designers. This past summer Pat worked as a summer analyst for BNP Paribas in NY. He was part of a debt capital markets group that raised capital through syndicated loans for LBO-driven transactions. The highlight of the internship was being part of the deal team that successfully launched a $375 million loan. Pat not only has experience in investment banking, but also gained exposure to the sales & trading business during his summer 2007 internship with Forex Capital Markets (FXCM). During his internship he gained experience in FX trading and developed a broad knowledge of financial markets. During his free time he enjoys playing guitar.

Maria Fulwiler

     Maria Fulwiler, born and raised in Newton, Massachusetts, is a Junior at Tufts University. Maria is pursuing a double major in Quantitative Economics and History. Maria has harbored a love of the stock market since her Sophomore year of high school and has been managing her personal portfolio since then. She joined the Tufts Financial Group during her first week at Tufts as Lead Analyst of the Automobile Sector and joined the Executive Board the following spring as Vice President. In Fall 2008, Maria was President of the Group. Her past financial experience includes internships with Kinetic World Wide, Merrill Lynch,and S.A.C. Capital Advisors. Apart from following the markets, Maria enjoys reading historical biographies, traveling, and cooking.
