About
Founded in 2005, the Tufts Financial Group has been one of the most successful and fastest growing student organizations at Tufts. The Group's rapidly expanding member base now includes approximately 300 members as well as thirteen executive officers, ten student journalists and fifty active portfolio analysts. The Group organizes an annual Financial Careers Symposium in conjunction with Tufts Career Services for Tufts undergrads to hear about experiences of professionals from across the industry. We have also set up the TFG Alpha Fund, which made its first investments in the fall of 2007. The Alpha Fund is the first student-run investment fund in the history of the university. The fund's profits will be donated to student financial aid.

Mission
The Tufts Financial Group Mission, as outlined in the organization's Constitution, is as follows:
-
To familiarize members of the Organization and members of the TCU with all aspects of the financial industry through various
means. To bestow members with such skills needed to succeed in said industry.
- To help members of the Organization and members of the TCU learn successful, practical strategies for investing in stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies, real estate and other financial instruments.
- To build networks through various channels, including but not limited to alumni channels. To help members obtain desirable internships and full-time jobs at the graduate or undergraduate level.
