Estimate of Expenses for Undergraduates
International Students:
2009-2010 An estimate of expenses for a twelve-month period is listed below.
(Other figures you may have seen were based on a 9 month academic calculation.)
Please keep in mind that these are minimum estimates for living expenses and that,
depending upon your lifestyle, the actual costs may be higher. Transportation to
and from the United States and optional Summer School tuition are not included
in the estimates. Due to inflation, these costs will increase annually.
| Academic year tuition & activity fee* |
$ 39,710 |
| Room & board for 12 months |
$ 14,328 |
| Required health service fee & health insurance |
$ 2,132 |
| Academic year books & supplies |
$ 800 |
| Personal expenses for 12 months (clothing, laundry, local transportation, entertainment, etc.) |
$ 2,200
_______ |
| TOTAL |
$59,170 |
If married and your spouse will accompany you to the United States, please add
$4,330 per year to the living expenses listed above. For each child who will
accompany you, add $3,000 per year.
*These figures are subject to approval by the Board of Trustees
in May, 2009.
Please Note: Because individuals on student visas must certify
that funds are available to finance their education, it is not expected that students
will need to work beyond the limits of a teaching or research assistantship.
Although part-time (not to exceed 20hours per week) on-campus work is allowed, these
jobs are limited. Please keep in mind that the U.S Citizenship and Immigration
Services severely limits off-campus work for students, and, in most cases, does
not allow it at all within the first academic year. You must check
with the International Center before considering off-campus employment.
