Maintaining Legal Status while Studying in the U.S.
In order to maintain your legal F-1 or J-1 student status while studying at Tufts, you must do the following:
- Take a full-time course load each academic semester. Full-time is defined as
either 3 credits per semester or - for international graduate students only - 2 credits and either a Teaching Assistantship or a Research Assistantship every semester.
- Stay in "good academic standing" which is defined as passing all of your classes.
