Kristen Fay is a doctoral research assistant on the 4-H Study of Positive Youth Development in the Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development. In 2002, Kristen received her B.A. in Psychology from Wellesley College, and her M.A. in Child Development from Tufts University in 2008. Kristen was recently awarded the Horton-Hallowell Fellowship for graduate study (2009-2010). Her other achievements include recognition as a 2006 AED/NIMH Early Career Investigator in the field of eating disorders field and, in 2005-2006, as a Kirschenbaum-Cohn fellow. In addition, she is also a research assistant to Dr. Anne Becker at the MGH Eating Disorders Clinical and Research Program and part-time faculty at Boston College where she has taught classes related to adolescent development. Kristen is primarily interested in the role of individual (e.g., actual and perceived weight) and contextual (e.g., activity settings such as sports participation) factors that moderate adolescents’ eating and weight outcomes.
