Michelle J. Boyd is a graduate student in the Applied Child Development
MA/PhD program within the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development at
Tufts University. Currently, she is a Graduate Research Assistant for the
4-H Study of Positive Youth Development and the Thrive Project within the
Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development. She earned a bachelors
degree in Psychology from Howard University (2006; Phi Beta Kappa). Her primary
research interests are related to how media can be developed and used to
optimize development or facilitate positive development for youth. Currently,
she is investigating the relationship between news media consumption and
civic engagement.
