Selva is a Research Associate at the Institute for Applied
Research in Youth Development. She earned a Bachelor's degree
from Tel-Aviv University and a Master's degree from University
of Chicago, both in Social Work with a clinical emphasis, and
a Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology from Boston College.
Selva's research interests are centered on assets in the ecology
of children and youth that promote positive outcomes. Her research
focuses primarily on the effects of parenting, but also includes
other ecological assets linked to development, such as neighborhood
and youth development programs. Selva has been extensively involved
in the evaluation of 4-H programs. In addition, Selva has clinical
experience both in the U.S. and abroad, working with families, youth,
and children.
