Eating Concerns

With all the stress in everyday life, some people feel that weight is one of the few things that they can control; so they may diet or exercise to excess. Continued dieting and concern with weight, however can lead to quite serious eating disorders and associated medical problems. It is not uncommon for students to develop these kinds of concerns along with the symptoms of an eating disorder often called "disordered eating" during the high school and college years.

Tufts University now has available a comprehensive, campus-wide response to eating concerns and disorders. It is the goal of this task force to educate the community on the prevalence of eating disorders in the college population, and to provide support, treatment, and/or referral, to those who have concerns about their eating habits. If you think you may have a problem, or if you wish to consult a clinician or a counselor on behalf of a friend, help is only a phone call away.
