Introduction
Health Service does not have its own pharmacy. We send
prescriptions on line to pharmacies or give students a hard copy to
take to any pharmacy that they would like to use. Many students use
Inman Pharmacy as described below, because of the convenient
delivery service, but they can use any pharmacy they wish.
Students often ask about the cost of a medication. The co-pay for a
particular medication is set by the student's health insurance
company, not by the pharmacy. The co-pay will be the same for a
given medication, no matter which pharmacy is used. However, that
same medication may have a different co-pay for someone with a
different insurance. The clinicians at Health Service cannot
determine what your co-pay will be. The student would need to
contact their insurance company for that information. When the
pharmacy fills the prescription, they submit the information on line
to the student's insurance company, and are told what co-pay to
charge.
Pharmacy FAQs
How does the Inman Pharmacy Delivery Program work?
Inman Pharmacy
is an independent pharmacy in Cambridge providing service to the
students of Tufts University. Health Service Clinicians and private
physicians can send prescriptions to Inman. Inman Pharmacy fills the
prescriptions and delivers them to Health Service. There are one to
three deliveries per day, depending on the day and time of year. In
order to process your prescription, Inman Pharmacy will need the
student's insurance information and a credit card to which the
co-pay can be charged.
Disclaimer: Inman is providing a delivery service as a convenience
to the students. Communication is done strictly between the student
and the pharmacy. Tufts University is not responsible for providing
payment information or collection for services or products. Once the
prescription leaves the pharmacy it cannot be returned. Deliveries
of prescriptions are made to Health Service on a pre-arranged
schedule.
