LGBTIQ Issues

The Health and Wellness Service is welcoming and affirming of all students at Tufts, including students of all gender identities and sexual orientations.

Our medical staff has been trained on LGBTIQ health issues, and our Health and Wellness Service is a safe space. Our health forms and sexual history forms are inclusive, and we have experience working with students with a range of gender identities and sexual orientations.

Transgender students interested in hormonal therapy are welcome to come and consult with us. We will work to develop the best treatment plan based on the students interest and the clinicians skill level.

Our counseling and mental health providers are available to assist you with any mental health concerns you may have. We are also available to help you address a variety of LGBTIQ issues, including questioning, coming out, peer issues, relationship issues, and others.

We hope you come and see us, and give us feedback on your experience in our office!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Michelle Bowdler, MSPH, Senior Director of Health and Wellness Services; Margaret Higham, MD, Medical Director; or

Julie Ross, Ph.D., Counseling and Mental Health Service Director.
