Important Information for New Students

Congratulations new students! Welcome to Tufts.

Some things that you need to take care of before arriving:

1. Make sure we receive your Health Examination Report. Due in our office by July 15, 2009. This form and important information can be located on our website under online forms.
   
   Your immunization information is a critical component of your medical records. Massachusetts State Law requires all college students to show proof of satisfactory immunizations. Students who have not fulfilled the state mandated health immunization requirements will not be permitted to register for the next semester classes until proof of documentation has been submitted.
    
2. Insurance, Massachusetts mandates that all students have Insurance. Please go to the web site @ www.aetnastudenthealth.com to look at the policy offered to Tufts students. Go to Find Your School and look up Tufts. This will detail the information you need to make a decision on whether or not to waive. If you have comparable coverage you may waive the Insurance Charge that appears on your tuition bill. The waiver site will be open by July 7, 2009. You can reach the waiver site by coming to our web page @ ase.tufts.edu/healthservice. At the top of the page it will say, click here to waive your Insurance Charge. You will need to complete the waiver and obtain a confirmation. Within ten days the fee will be removed from your tuition bill.
    
3. You should complete this process by August 3, 2009.
    
4. Please Note: This waiver process needs to be done every year, until you graduate.
