Emergency Contraception
The condom broke?
You had sex unexpectedly, and didn't use a condom?
You forgot several of your birth control pills?
You were forced to have sex?
These situations can and do occur. Tufts University Health Service offers ready access to
Emergency Contraception. We know how important it is for you to have a back up plan, in
case of problems with your regular contraceptive method.
How to get EC from Health Services:
- Come to walk in clinic whenever we are open:
- During the academic year
- Mon-Fri 8:00am to 8:00pm
- Saturdays and Holidays 10:30am to 5:00pm
- During summer and break times
- Mon-Fri 8:30am to 4:00pm
- During the academic year, we are not open on Sundays, but a clinician is on call.
You may call the on call clinician between 9 am to 5 pm on Sundays to request
EC. To contact the on call clinician, call the police at 7-3030. They will page the
clinician.
- During the summer and break times, we are not open on weekends or holidays, and
no clinician is on call. You can access EC through:
- - local emergency rooms
- - calling Planned Parenthood at 1-800-230-PLAN.
- - by ordering EC online (see below)
