Michelle Bowdler, M.S.P.H.
Senior Director of Health and Wellness Services
Welcome to the Tufts Health Service.
Michelle was a writer and editor after graduating from Brandeis University
with a BA in English and American Literature. After that, she worked for a
number of years in the area of substance abuse, providing HIV education
and counseling to heroin users who were in methadone treatment. She has
experience in gay, lesbian, bisexual health issues, and injury and violence
prevention. After receiving her masters degree, Michelle helped open and
run the Roxbury Heart Center, which was the first in the nation community-based
cardiac clinic designed to treat an underserved, economically disadvantaged population.
Michelle has two children and a partner of many years. Recently, they
purchased an aquarium with three sharks. She also enjoys gardening, walking,
broadway musicals, the Red Sox, Tina Turner and Judy Garland.
