What to do After Hours:
The Tufts Health Service physicians
are on-call when the
Health Service is closed, including Sundays. If you have an
urgent medical concern, that cannot wait until we are open,
you can reach the physician on-call by calling the Tufts
Police at 617-627-3030 and asking them to page the physician
on-call. The physician on-call
only gives phone advice-they do not make house calls or examine
you while the Health Service is closed. If you are seriously ill
and wish to be examined after hours, please go to the emergency
room of the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford or another
local Hospital.
If you are having a mental health emergency, and want to
talk with someone, call the Tufts Police at 617-627-3030
and state that you would like to speak with the counselor
on-call. The police will not ask you anything about the nature
of your concern. They will simply ask for a number that the
counselor can reach you at, and what first name the counselor
should ask for.
Physicians are on-call only when school is in session.
