Graduate Student Unionization at Tufts

Current Status of Unionization Events:

During the 2001-02 academic year, there was an effort to unionize graduate teaching and research assistants on the Tufts Medford campus. This drive resulted in an election in late April 2002. The Administration is appealing the NLRB (National Labor Relations Board) decision to grant the election, and the election results are impounded pending the outcome of the appeal process.

GSC Neutrality Statement:
While taking no stance on the Association of Student Employees at Tufts (ASET)/United Automotive Workers (UAW) labor issue at this time, the GSC supports open communication and exchange of ideas on all issues affecting Tufts graduate students.
