PDF Conversion

Because the PDF file format is cross-platform compatible, it is the preferred form for paper submission. If you have never created a PDF document, do NOT panic. Below you will find a few suggestions to get you started

Converting from Microsoft Word

If your paper is written in MS-Word, check around your department to see if any computer has Adobe Acrobat installed [NOTE: This is different from Acrobat Reader!]. If so, open your document on that computer, select "Acrobat" from the menu at the top of the page (should be right after "Help") and select "Convert to Adobe PDF".

If you have trouble finding a computer with Adobe Acrobat installed, you can go to http://www.fastpdf.com/. Fast PDF offers a free service that will convert your Word (.doc or .rdf) document to PDF, with advertisements. While you can pay for a PDF without any AD text, you do NOT have to for the purpose of submission.

Converting from WordPerfect

Under the "File" menu, select "Publish to PDF" (this should be below the "Print" option)
