FAQ

Is the synopsis a paper?

NO. The synopsis is not a "paper" of the sort one would submit to a journal. The purpose of the synopsis is to allow audience members to make informed decisions about which presentations to see. The synopsis should also be sufficient to give a general idea of the presenter's work to those who may be unable to attend a specific presentation.

The journal where I hope to publish my data has a strict policy on not publishing the results elsewhere, does the synopsis count as a "published" document?

The synopsis will not be "published". It will be available to the Tufts community (as part of the GSS information packet) and not to the general public. Furthermore, no synopsis will be made available on any GSC web site without the explicit permission of the presenter.

Please be aware that "hard data" is not required as part of the synopsis, although you are free to include it if you so wish.

If you have further questions, it is suggested that you contact the journal you wish to publish in directly.
