Study Abroad

Currently a significant number of Arabic language students elect to carry out study abroad in the Arab world, usually during their junior year. Students are able to choose from among a variety of locations in consultation with Arabic program faculty. Popular destinations have included Cairo and Alexandria, Egypt; Amman, Jordan; Fez or Casablanca, Morocco, to name just a few. Some students may elect to study Arabic in US-based programs such as the summer immersion program at Middlebury College. Also, Tufts has successfully placed Arabic students into the prestigious Center for Arabic Study Abroad program at the American University in Cairo, and other similar programs.
