Doctoral Hooding Ceremony, Arts and Sciences
The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Doctoral Hooding Ceremony will be
held on Saturday, May 19th from 1:30-3:30 p.m., at the Cohen
Auditorium. Invitations will be mailed to eligible participants;
please RSVP to Gina Murray
(Office of Graduate Studies). If you choose to attend,
a doctoral hood will be provided to you as a gift from the dean. Gina
Murray will be distributing the hoods in her office (Ballou Hall
first floor) in early May. Academic regalia is required at the
ceremony. You may wear your own gown, or the gown of a
family member. Academic regalia is not available for rent.
Family and friends are invited to a reception in your honor
immediately following the ceremony.
Doctoral Hooding Ceremony Engineering
The School of Engineering will have its own commencement ceremony
following the all-university ceremony. All engineering degree
recipients will receive their
degrees at this ceremony. Each doctoral recipient will be hooded
by his/her advisor. Engineering doctoral recipients will not be part of a
separate hooding ceremony, but will be invited to a celebratory
reception on Saturday afternoon, May 19, 2012. More information
about this event will be relayed directly to eligible students by
the School of Engineering. Doctoral recipients who attend this event and
Commencement will be provided a hood as a gift from the dean.
Gina Murray (Office of Graduate Studies, Ballou Hall, First Floor)
will be distributing the hoods in early May.
