Tufts University Department of Geology Tenure Track Position

MINERALOGY AND PETROLOGY - ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Tufts University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Geology in the areas of Mineralogy and Petrology, beginning September 1, 2008. Qualifications include: Ph.D. by time of appointment; demonstrated potential for research supported by external funding; and teaching experience at the college level. The applicant should be able to fit into a small, well-equipped department where teaching is highly valued. The department currently offers undergraduate majors, and a new focused graduate program is being developed. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in Mineralogy, Igneous/Metamorphic Petrology, and one or more upper level and graduate courses in a field related to the person’s expertise.
