Dorothy M. Skinner earned dual undergraduate degrees (B.S. magna cum laude; Phi Beta Kappa) in Biology and Chemistry at Tufts University in 1952. She earned her Ph.D. in 1958 from Harvard. She died on February 12, 2005. Dorothy was an athlete, a women's activist, a well-rounded biologist who strove to excel at all she did. Subsequent generations of women cell biologists owe her a debt for her pioneering contributions to the field.
