The function of the Engineering Graduate Studies Committee (GSC) is to review all changes in programs and policy affecting engineering graduate programs and research and bring its recommendations to the faculty of the School of Engineering. The committee is charged with maintaining standards of admission and performance; reviewing, when required, degree requirements; and ensuring coordination among programs in engineering and within disciplinary programs with departments outside of the School of Engineering.
Members include the dean of the School of Engineering or his or her designee, one member from each department in the School of Engineering, one member from the Tufts Gordon Institute, and the chair of the Engineering Curriculum Committee. Tenured or tenure-track faculty members are eligible, except in regards to the Gordon Institute representative. Members are appointed to a three-year term.
Committee members can expect to spend approximately four hours per month on committee business. This committee is appropriate for tenure-track faculty members.
