Mystics, Mavericks, and Merrymakers: An Intimate Journey Among Hasidic Girls (foreword by Carol Gilligan)
New book projects:
I have just completed a novel set in a fictional Hasidic community. Like Mystics, Mavericks, and Merrymakers, it explores the beauty of Hasidic faith, community, and rituals along with the searing isolation endured by those whose desires and dreams push beyond the boundaries of conservative religion. But the characters, dilemmas, adventures, and mysteries are all completely new.
Currently, I am working on a third book, inspired by my lifelong spiritual quest. It will include a fascinating range of characters—some from mainstream religions, others whose views differ radically from any established tradition.
