Expertise: Environmental, Analytical, & Physical Chemistry – In situ spectroscopic measurements for process control or for detection of environmental contaminants using lasers and fiber optics for multidimensional fluorescence and Raman measurements; global warming potential of CFC substitutes; laser spectroscopy and excited-state dynamics in supersonic molecular beams; chemical education: the development of innovative instructional materials incorporating ideas of cosmic evolution into general, physical and environmental chemistry courses for science and nonscience majors, as appropriate.
