Currently writing a book on the ecological history of theatre and drama, following the
publication of articles on plays and productions about the environment in TDR: The Drama Review, Journal
of Dramatic Theory and Criticism, and The Journal of American Drama and Theatre. Director of over sixty
plays in university and professional theatres during his career, recently a contemporary interpretation
of Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe and a '80s sci-fit sit-com titled Rain. Some Fish.
No Elephants. by Y York in productions at Tufts. Recipient of a grant and award from the Environmental
Protection Agency for creating and touring an original play, InTOXICating: An Eco-Cabaret, with a
Boston professional theatre, the Underground Railway Theater (for which he is now a member of the Board of Directors).
