Committee Description & Work Load:
Tufts University's Permanent Art Collection is administered by the University
Gifts of Art Committee and reports to the Dean of Arts & Sciences. The Committee
is comprised of 10 members (4 faculty/staff, 3 administrators ex officio, 1 Tufts
Trustee, 1 graduate student, 1 undergraduate student). Its purpose is: to set
and enforce the mission of the Tufts University Permanent Art Collection and an
Intra-University Art Loan Program; to develop, implement, and periodically review
a Collection Policy for accessioned art works and protocols for the Art Loan Program;
to develop criteria to guide University Advancement officers in the cultivation of
donors who offer unrestricted gifts of art to the University; to develop and enforce
protocols for the disposal of restricted gifts of art to the University; and to
advise the University President and Board of Trustees on the de-accession of art
works. The committee meets twice per semester for two hours. |
