Bylaws:
A Committee on Athletics, consisting of eleven or more members, including at least
five members of the Faculty, the Director of Athletics overseeing Physical Education,
Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics, the Dean of Student Affairs, a representative
from the Administration at Large, and ex officio members of the athletic department staff
(without vote): including those overseeing athletic facilities, club sports, physical
education, and intramural sports. The function of this Committee is to advise the Dean
of Student Affairs and the Athletics Department on any issues involving the intersection
of academics and athletics. It shall also report to the faculty annually on the vision,
plans, and current state of the Athletics Department.
Committee Description & Work Load:
This committee meets 2-3 times per semester to administer athletic awards,
oversee proposals for new sports programs, and to give the Athletics
Department guidance on issues related to athletics and academics at Tufts. |
