This committee shall monitor and provide advice on the delivery of information technology services provided to AS&E by any and all University administrative departments, and make recommendations concerning improvements in such services or their underlying policies as necessary to support the Universitys teaching and research missions. The Committee shall ensure that all computing and information technology services for research and instruction are delivered in a way that meets the needs of AS&E faculty, staff, and students.
(replaces the Computer Facilities and Usage Committee)

Committee Description & Work Load:

The Committee on Information Technology oversees and monitors academic technologies, including email, classroom technology equipment and support, desktop and laptop support, wired and wireless networking, including Internet access and support, high performance computing and other research computing and facilities, digital imaging and archives, and other information technologies that affect faculty, staff, and student productivity. It seeks to ensure that the administration of academic technologies for instruction and research is responsive to the needs of faculty and students. It also seeks to ensure that University-wide policies toward academic technologies are consistent with AS&E needs. The Committee typically meets two times a semester and whenever the need arises. It is the intent of the Committee to work with any and all administrative offices of the University that provide technology-related services to AS&E faculty, staff, and students.
