Bylaws:

A Committee on Educational Policy, consisting of ten or more members, of whom seven must be members of the Faculty, one must be a graduate student named by the Graduate Student Council, up to four may be elected undergraduate students, and three may be members of the Administration, including ex officio the Director of Advising and the President of the University or his designee. The Committee shall recommend, and revise annually, a long-term academic plan for Arts, Sciences and Engineering and coordinate reviews of Arts, Science, and Engineering academic programs. The Committee shall have the authority to consider and make recommendations on all matters of general educational policy including questions relating to: the coordination and direction of the various educational programs of the Faculty, and of the Faculties of the Associated Schools; the development of new programs and facilities and deletions of existing programs having direct bearing on the broad patterns of education within the jurisdiction of the Faculty; the oversight of academic advising and the overall nature, quality and direction of such education.

Committee Description & Work Load

The Education Policy Committee meets about twice a month (for approximately 90 minutes), at staggered times so that every member can make at least some of the meetings. Notes are circulated via email on the content of the discussions.
