  1. What is the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)?
    SEVIS is a database maintained by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security which maintains information on non-immigrant students such as F-1 students.
     
  2. Why has the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) created SEVIS?
    SEVIS automates the manual data collection process that schools and exchange visitor programs utilize to gather information on their students, scholars, & exchange visitors.
     
  3. How much is the SEVIS fee?
