English Language Training Program for
International Graduate Students - Fall 2011
We are delighted to advise you of the following opportunity
to improve your English language skills this semester.
Beginning on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Tufts University
English Language Programs will be offering a Language Training
Course for International Graduate Students, at no cost to
participating students.
The program will be offered once per week during the fall semester
and will begin on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. The program offers
language instruction classes for 90 minutes per week that focus on
writing and conversational skills in English. The program lasts for
10 weeks, and will meet on Tuesdays in Olin 116 from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm.
Office hours will be held immediately after the class from
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm so you can receive more personalized
attention.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work on language skills in a collegial
environment. There is a maximum enrollment of 16 students in the class and
the students accepted into the program will come from the
Department of Engineering. Post-doctoral candidates are also eligible.
The instructor for the course has an excellent background in
professional language training programs and has been
teaching English courses at Tufts University for the past
five years.
Students will be selected based on availability. Particular consideration
will be given to students currently working as Teaching Assistants (TA),
or planning to become a TA in the fall of 2011. Most students will have
a TOEFL score of between 550-630 (CBT 213-267 or iBT 80-109), but all are
welcome to participate.
To apply, please submit the attached
registration form to Kevin Paquette,
Director, Tufts University English Language Programs at email
