Early Childhood Education
PLEASE NOTE: We are no longer accepting applications for the Early Childhood Education MAT, and will admit no new MAT students into the teacher preparation program for enrollment in the fall semester of 2017.
PreK - Grade 2 Initial Teacher Licensure
MASTER of ARTS in TEACHING (MAT)
For students who have already earned an undergraduate degree, the MAT program leads to teacher licensure in two years of combined coursework and practicum experiences. Please see the program curriculum outlined below. For further information on Massachusetts teacher licensure requirements and the courses offered through the MAT program, please contact Dr. Cynthia Ballenger, who is the Professional Development Coordinator for Early Childhood Education.
The following are the requirements and sequence of courses for the M.A.T. program:
