Financial Aid and Tuition

For graduate students, there are several types of financial aid available through the University and through the department, namely, tuition scholarships, teaching assistantships for courses sponsored by the department and for classrooms in the Eliot-Pearson Children's School, research assistantships, work-study awards and loans through the Office of Financial Aid, and several endowed funds managed by the department. For those about to graduate from the Tufts undergraduate program or who are less than a year from having graduated from the undergraduate program, please consult the TuftsPlus tuition reduction program:

The TuftsPlus program is open to qualified undergraduates interested in the following master's programs offered by the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development.

  • Master's in Applied Child Development
  • Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Early Childhood Education

Eligible students must have a 3.25 GPA their senior year. Students are eligible up to one year following graduation from the undergraduate program at Tufts. For those eligible for TuftsPlus, the application process is simplified as follows.

$85 application fee waived
GRE requirement waived
Two letters of recommendation required (one from advisor)
