Summer Program 2008
About the Program
The Eliot-Pearson Children’s School Summer Program provides a safe,
supportive environment in which children can enjoy the magic and special
carefree quality of the summer. The program staff includes teachers and
students affiliated with the Department of Child Development at Tufts
University as well as from other settings.
The campus includes an air-conditioned building, indoor pool, and two
large play yards with climbing structures, outdoor equipment and sprinklers.
Our program focuses on activities that promote cooperative problem solving
and self-confidence through individual and group challenges.
Throughout the summer, we use the Tufts University Hamilton Pool
(located next to the Eliot-Pearson Children’s School) on a daily basis for
children attending full-day, and three mornings a week for those
attending half-day. In addition to the program staff, we have lifeguards
at the pool at all times. Children wear flotation devices provided by
their families for recreational swimming.
