PLEASE NOTE: The Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development and the Department of Education are suspending admissions into the MAT Elementary Education program for the 2009-2010 academic year. The two departments, in conjunction with the Graduate School, plan to update, restructure, and enhance this graduate licensure program for the preparation of elementary school teachers, and are looking forward to its re launch in the near future.

Teacher Preparation Programs

Elementary Licensure Program (total of 11 courses):  Elementary Teacher (1-6) List of Courses

Individual students consult with their program advisors to determine the specific sequence of courses.  Approved alternate courses may be arranged with the consent of the student’s program advisor.  A course at Tufts is equivalent to four credits at other institutions.

  • CD/ED 103 Elementary Supervised Teaching (300-hour placement at either 1-3 or 4-5 level)
