Institute of Technology, Westminster College and Wheelock College. In
addition, one graduate received a 3-year teaching Fellowship in the
Humanities Program at Stanford, and another was granted a five-year
appointment in the Expository Writing Program at Harvard University.
Our candidates have also been successful in winning prestigious fellowships,
such as the Ann Plato Fellowship at Trinity College, and the External Teaching
Fellowship of the Humanities Center at Stanford University.
When applying to graduate programs in English,
applicants should be aware of the very difficult
job situation at present. The Modern Language
Association and other professional organizations
have noted that the teaching market for English
and other humanities fields has been highly
competitive in recent years.
