General Policies

• For additional information about the writing requirement, please see The Bulletin of Tufts University.
• English 1, 2, and 4 must be taken for a letter grade in order to fulfill the writing requirement. English 3 is pass-fail.
• Fulfillment of the writing requirement is a prerequisite for all upper level English courses (English 5 and up).
• First-Year Writing courses may not be taken at the same time as upper level English classes (English 5 and up).
