M.A.T. in Art Education:
Course Requirements (Visual Art license for Grades PreK-8 or 5-12)
The M.A.T. in visual art education is a 10-12 course program leading to initial
teacher licensure. The sequence of course offerings for the M.A.T.-Art Ed is linked
to the program as a whole, and students are encouraged to complete the program as
full-time students. Preparation for initial teacher licensure and the M.A.T. degree
is usually completed over 12 months: the course of one academic year and one summer
session.

1 Course in Human Development and Learning:

internships which are comprised of 1 day per week in the public school and
1 session per week in the Museum children’s studios):
