Critical Educational Studies Program of Study
Students will make final course selections in consultation with an advisor. Suggested course options are listed for non-required courses in each category. Other appropriate courses may be considered.
Research Paper Guidelines and Requirements
The paper is a one-semester scholarly project conducted toward completion of the Master of Arts in Educational Studies. The paper is advised by a faculty member agreed upon by the student, the academic advisor, and the program director. The paper is evaluated by the paper advisor. Thesis Guidelines and Requirements
The thesis is a two-semester scholarly project conducted toward completion of the Master of Arts in Educational Studies. The thesis is advised by a chair and read by a committee of two additional faculty agreed upon by the student, the academic advisor, and the program director. The student will defend her or his thesis in front of this committee, the members of which will also evaluate the final document. A successfully completed thesis will include, but not be limited to:
Proposals for the paper or thesis must be approved by the program director, academic advisor, and paper or thesis advisor by the last day of courses the semester prior to the study.
