Part Time Lecturer
Tara Young is an independent museum professional who has worked in the field for more than 20 years. Previously, she served as Deputy Director at the Museum of Russian Icons, Director of Education at the Higgins Armory Museum, Associate Curator of Education at the Tacoma Art Museum, and Assistant Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Seattle Art Museum. Tara holds a BA (Harvard) and MA (University of Pittsburgh) in the History of Art and Architecture and a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the Institute for Nonprofit Practice at Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University. Tara teaches museum studies at Tufts University and serves as a peer accreditation reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums. Currently, Tara is working on a book about museum careers to be published in 2019 by Rowman & Littlefield and AAM. She lives in Central Massachusetts.
