Science/Math Content Institute: VideoPaper Builder
Held November 15th, 2006

This was the second of a two day-long workshop on creating Videopapers to document the teaching and learning of inquiry-based science in K-8 classrooms. Over the five hours, participating K-8 teachers from Cambridge, Medford, Boston, Chelmsford, Newton, and other communities used the VideoPaper Builder software to combine their edited movies from the first day, with written reflections and images from their classroom experiences, to create a VideoPaper. This culminating event for the course was well received and thought provoking, providing the participants with new ideas for integrating media into their Math and Science curriculum.

"I think the most interesting thing was that when I got back to school, I showed the video paper to my class in their computer session. I was amazed by the way the technology assisted in the teaching process. You had the video, the lesson plan and the slide featured. I made my text enlarged and read the actual paper to the first grade class. When I played the video excerpts the class could see the relationship between the writing and the pictures.

On a very first grade level this was pretty powerful!!"
