  • Reception May 4, 2011, 4:00-7:00 to honor the work of the Tufts-SMFA MAT student teachers, their cooperating art teachers, university supervisors and faculty members. Announcements and recognitions start at 4:30.

Where is the Art Education Festival?
Mission Hill Building of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston at 160 Saint Alphonsus Street, Roxbury Crossing, MA 02120.

Our objectives included:

  • Displaying the results of our work as artist-teachers in the setting of our scholarly and art making community.
  • Advancing the discourse in art education about what it means to be an emerging art teacher in the context of:
    • Our multicultural society and artworlds.
    • Postmodernism’s influence on art making.
    • The role of visual culture in the life of our PK-12 art students.
    • The daily realities of developing, designing, implementing and evaluating curriculum in the PK-12 public school classroom.
