Field Studies in Art Education Pre K-8 and 5-12

In EDS 179 and EDS 180 Art Education Field Studies, the unique collaboration between The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts includes the opportunity for students to draw upon the rich resources of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In addition to their internships in public schools of greater Boston, students explore the museum as a source of curriculum development and community engagement. In this Gallery Instruction Seminar, students participate in an inquiry based approach to visual culture and imagine the possibilities for bringing K-12 students to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Later this year, each student teacher will develop curriculum that includes bringing one of their K-12 classes to the MFA. the PK-12 public school classroom.
