Philip Gay Program Manager
Philip
Gay is Manager for the Technology Learning and Media Center held
within Tufts University Department of Education. His
responsibilities include producing new media content for
department projects, working to integrate technology into the
education curriculum, and training faculty and students in the
use of both video and the Internet. In association with Tufts
Academic Technology unit he introduced the digital toolbox to
the education curriculum which serves as an adaptable
e-portfolio for both pre-service teachers and faculty.
Mr. Gay brings a background in video production and online
curriculum development to Tufts after serving as a producer for
WGBH Educational Productions in Boston. There he produced best
practice and professional development videos as well as special
collection content for Teachers Domain, an online teaching and
learning curriculum resource for teachers.
Philip has produced and directed both local and national
productions for PBS including Antiques Roadshow, Ballroom
Dancing, and Frontline. Mr. Gay received multiple New England
Emmy awards for children's programming, music, and documentary
productions. In 2006 he received a Cine Golden Eagle Award for
producing Two Spirits Gallery, a video focusing on the
art of Alaska's recovering addicts and homeless population.
Philip holds a BS in Communications from Temple University
and a Master of Arts in English and American Literature from
Harvard University.
