Yannis M. Ioannides attended an international conference, titled

that was hosted at the Bank of England and was jointly organized by the Bank of England, CEMMAP
of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, and the Imperial College

Yannis Ioannides recently attended the
Delphi Economic Forum,
Delphi, Greece. The Forum, the first such gathering of its kind, brought
together more than 140 scholars, politicians, businessmen/women, policy makers
and media personalities who discussed the outlook for Greece and its region and
a vision for 2020-2030. He spoke about
laying the foundations for growth in Greece.

Gilbert Metcalf recently gave an interview for an Oxford University Press blog,
The Oxford Comment, on how
Economics can solve the climate problem and what
the Paris climate agreement means for global climate change.

Enrico Spolaore presented his research on European integration at the
2015 Annual Research Conference in Brussels, hosted by the European
Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs.
Yannis Ioannides was recently quoted in an article
Social Sciences Today on how U.S. scholars commend China's economic reformation. (Article in
McMillan's work was recently cited in The Economist, in the article
"More a Marathon Than A Spirit".
Enrico Spolaore co-wrote an article for E-International Relations on
"What's Happening to the Number and Size of Nations?"
participated in the
Brookings Panel on Economic Activity, September
10-11, 2015, where he presented his paper
"Is the Greek Crisis One of Supply or Demand?", jointly authored with
Christopher Pissarides. The paper was discussed by the
international and Greek press.
Economics joins with Eliot-Pearson to offer
new doctoral program in Human Developmental Economics.
