Faculty in the News: 2010-2011

Debra Kendrick, our Department Administrator, has won the Extra Mile Award, one of Tufts Distinction Awards. President Bacow will present this year's Tufts Distinction Awards on June 9, 2010 at noon in the Cohen Auditorium. Congratulations, Debra, on this most deserved award!"
 
Drusilla Brown appointed Director of Tufts International Relations Program. Prof. Brown is the first economist to lead this large and prestigious interdisciplinary program.
 
Anna Hardman promoted to Senior Lecturer in Economics. Dr. Hardman's distinguished record includes research, teaching and mentoring in the fields of Urban Economics and the Economics of International Migration.
 
Maggie McMillan will be the Director of the Development Strategy and Governance Division at the International Food Policy Research Institute in Washington, D.C, while on leave from Tufts. Prof. McMillan and her team will conduct research and outreach on food, nutrition, and poverty alleviation, and will manage strategy support programs in Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, and China.
 
Stelios Michalopoulos will be a Member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton during his sabbatical leave in 2010-2011, pursuing his research on issues in economic development and cultural economics.
 
Jeff Zabel promoted to Full Professor of Economics. Prof. Zabel has done path-breaking research in the areas of urban and housing economics, education, environmental economics, and welfare analysis.
