Full-Time Faculty
Jay Shimshack is an assistant professor of economics at Tufts University. Dr. Shimshack holds a Ph.D. in agricultural and resource economics from the University of California, Berkeley (2002) and a B.S. in business marketing and management from Cornell University (1995). His areas of specialization are environmental economics, applied microeconomics, and public policy. Specific areas of expertise include corporate environmental performance, monitoring and enforcement, the economics of information, and water quality. Dr. Shimshack has given invited presentations at the National Academies of Science Institute of Medicine, the National Bureau of Economic Research, more than a dozen prominent environmental economics conferences, and many research universities. Publications include papers in top environmental economics journals such as the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management and the American Journal of Agricultural Economics. At Tufts, Professor Shimshack teaches environmental economics and statistics.
