Full-Time Faculty
Sharun Mukand received his Ph.D. from Boston University in 1998. His primary research areas are International Political Economy and the Political Economy of Development - with a focus on the political economy of policymaking. He has been a Visiting Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a Research Associate at the Center for International Development at Harvard University. He was also Visiting Junior Fellow at IRSD at Boston University. His recent work includes "Redistributive Promises & the Adoption of Economic Reform" (with Sanjay Jain) American Economic Review; "Politics, Information and the Urban Bias" (with Sumon Majumdar and Anandi Mani); "Policy Gambles" (with S. Majumdar) American Economic Review; and "In Search of the Holy Grail: Policy Convergence, Experimentation and Economic Performance" (with Dani Rodrik).
